Diving trip to Fuvahmulah
Fuvahmulah is an island belonging to the Gnaviyani Atoll in the Maldives archipelago, 494 km from Male. Famous and known in the Maldives as the most beautiful island in the country, thanks to its beautiful beaches. It is the only atoll that is made up of only one island and, at the same time, it is the third largest island in the Maldives, with 4.5*1.2km, plus another 3km of reef to the southeast known as (Rashikedefaro).
An island famous for its fishing, yellowfin tuna and sailfish are what we can find every day in the market. Little is known about the history of this island, as in ancient times it was very difficult for fishermen to access it. It was not until the early 2000s that a port was built on the southeastern tip of the island.
Being the closest atoll to the equator and the first atoll in the southern hemisphere among the Maldivian atolls, Fuvahmulah has many features that make the island unique.
