BISMARCK SEA EXPEDITION

This expedition of just 12 divers, aboard the M/V FeBrina, is designed to dive some of the most beautiful reefs in the Bismarck Sea, featuring abundant marine life amid spectacular underwater landscapes of volcanic formation.

Papua New Guinea is located in the famous Coral Triangle, a centre of marine biodiversity, which has the greatest profusion of tropical fish and corals in the world.

This unique Bismarck Sea itinerary focuses on the amazing dive sites of Kimbe Bay, Witu Islands and Fathers Reefs. Here the colourful corals are home to a huge variety of fish, crustaceans and invertebrates. Many reefs are home to schools of barracuda, tuna, jacks and various species of sharks. Occasional sightings of killer whales, pilot whales and whale sharks occur.

Itinerary

ITINERARY

Day 1 (1 December, Tuesday)

Boarding from 16:00 hours at Walindi Plantation Resort on board the MV/FeBrina. Welcome briefing and cabin allocation.

Days 2 to 7 (From 2 to 7 December)

During these days we will visit the best reefs of Kimbe Bay along with Fathers Reefs or the Witu Islands (depending on the weather). There will be 4 to 5 dives per day.

Day 8 (8 December, Tuesday)

We will do the last 2 dives before noon and then head back to the harbour and spend the night in Kimbe Bay.

Day 9 (9 December, Wednesday)

Breakfast, check out and transfer to the airport to take the flight back to Spain.
End of services provided.

SERVICES INCLUDED

Transfers to and from Hoskins/Kimbe airport to the ship.
8 nights’ accommodation on board the MV FeBrina on a F.B. basis.
7 days of diving (4 to 5 dives per day, with only 2 dives on the last day).
Mineral water, tea, coffee and snacks during the day.
Last dinner at Walindi Plantation Resort.
Daily laundry service.
Dive package minimum 30 dives.
12-litre bottles, with air and weights.
Experienced guides.
Travel and diving assistance insurance.

M/V FEBRINA

A CAPTAIN’S DREAM COME TRUE

The M/V FeBrina arrived in Papua New Guinea as the lifelong dream of Captain Alan Raabe, together with Max Benjamin of the Walindi Plantation Resort.

With Walindi as her home port, and under Alan’s stewardship, the M/V FeBrina has developed into a beautiful dive boat that provides a unique experience in the waters of western New Britain Island and allows us to enjoy the spectacular dive sites of the Bismarck Sea.

The M/V FeBrina was purchased by its current owners, Max Benjamin and Alan Raabe, in 1991. At that time, it was a fishing and diving vessel operating out of Gladstone, Australia. Before delivering the boat from Australia to Papua New Guinea, the boat was completely refurbished to cater especially for divers and underwater photographers, with many additional improvements since then.
