It is well known that Mozambique is not only famous for its spectacular diving. It is a destination where you can see both the largest oceanic animal and the largest terrestrial animal on the planet in a single trip.
A place where you can spot a leopard with its prey in a tree and a leopard shark resting on the sandy bottom after a night of hunting. Mozambique is all about unforgettable experiences, both in and out of the water.
Why dive in Mozambique?
Diving trips in Mozambique are truly out of the ordinary. They bring us into direct contact with fascinating underwater creatures. The waters of Tofo offer the opportunity to swim with whale sharks, turtles, dolphins, mantas, and if it’s the right season (from May to November), you’ll also witness the spectacle of humpback whales, one of the most acrobatic whale species, swimming alongside their calves after giving birth.
Its waters offer high chances of encounters, especially for the famous whale shark, as this area hosts one of the highest populations in the world.
Two species of dolphins frequently visit these waters: the bottlenose dolphin, sometimes seen in large groups approaching divers, and the humpback dolphin, a much more elusive species. Up to five different species of turtles and various rays can also appear at any moment on the surface.
