The best time for diving in the Azores is from June to early October, with August and September being the ideal months, with water temperatures between 20 °C and 25 °C and excellent visibility.
During the summer, conditions are optimal and the concentration of pelagic fish is higher. The archipelago, bathed by the Gulf Stream, combines warm and cold waters that attract incredible biodiversity: 24 species of cetaceans, 5 species of sea turtles and more than 600 types of fish, including mobula rays, manta rays, giant groupers and blue sharks.
The main attractions of diving in the Azores are encounters with blue sharks, huge schools of mobula rays and possible sightings of whale sharks or mako sharks. Whales, dolphins, shipwrecks and underwater volcanic formations can also be seen.
Beyond the water, the islands offer spectacular landscapes, hiking trails and excursions that complete a unique experience.
