One of the most remote and inhospitable islands on the planet

Malpelo Island, an inhospitable volcanic rock with no vegetation or beaches, owes its name to its wild and difficult-to-navigate appearance. Located 490 km off the Colombian coast, it is a World Natural Heritage Site and an outstanding marine sanctuary.

Its hostile and remote environment attracts expert divers seeking encounters with hammerhead, silky, Galapagos, tiger and whale sharks, as well as schools of jacks, barracuda, manta rays, sunfish, killer whales, dolphins and the rare thresher shark.
