AN EXPLOSION OF NATURE

Enjoy the exotic and exclusive Galápagos Islands on a 8-day trip during which we’ll dive at the archipelago’s best sites aboard the “Humboldt explorer ,” with a land excursion to Isabela and Santa Cruz Islands, where we’ll take in the most breathtaking scenery, spot all the local wildlife, and participate in a wide variety of activities surrounded by nature in its purest form.

The Galápagos is the second-largest marine reserve in the world. With its marvelous underwater life—featuring large species and a wealth of biodiversity—it is the best diving destination on the planet: all kinds of sharks (hammerhead, Galápagos, whale, and white-tipped sharks…), pelagic fish, sea lions, eagle rays, iguanas, turtles…

But it’s not just amazing underwater… On land, we’ll have the chance to see land tortoises, iguanas, penguins, and a host of exotic birds native to the area, as well as volcanic landscapes that are unique in the world.

ITINERARY

Day 1 (13th December, Monday).

Upon arrival at Baltra Airport: the first checkpoint to ensure that no foreign plant or animal species are brought onto the islands. In addition, your TCC (Transit Control Card) will be stamped. Finally, you’ll also need to pay the entrance fee for the Galápagos National Park (200 USD). The guide will meet us at the airport and accompany us by bus to board the “Humboldt Explorer.” There will be a welcome briefing, and cabins will be assigned.

Day 2 (14th December, Tuesday).

A day of two dives at North Baltra. Sightings include rays and schools of fish.
In the afternoon, a shore excursion to North Seymour. We’ll hike along the trail that circles North Seymour Island to see the large colonies of blue-footed boobies and frigatebirds. It’s also common to spot sea lions and marine iguanas. Departure for the Northern Islands in the afternoon.

Day 3 (15th December, Wednesday).

A day with 3–4 dives at Wolf Island. A night dive is possible. Sightings typically include hammerhead sharks, whale sharks, eagle rays, sea lions, Galápagos sharks, and silky sharks.

Day 4 (16th December, Thursday).

We will make two dives at Wolf Island and sail to Darwin Island (two dives). Sightings typically include hammerhead sharks, red-lipped batfish, eagle rays, sea lions, Galápagos sharks, and silky sharks.

Day 5 (17th December, Friday).

Day of 4 dives in Darwin. Sailing to Wolf Island.

Day 6 (18th December, Saturday).

Day of three dives at Wolf Island. Sail to Cousin’s Rock (more than 20 hours).

Day 7 (19th December, Sunday).

2 dives at Cousin’s Rock. (The number of dives depends on the travel time from Wolf Island.)
This is an excellent macro dive with the chance to see seahorses, sea lions, and eagle rays. Take a bus trip to the Santa Cruz Highlands to visit the giant tortoises in their natural habitat. Explore the town of Puerto Ayora and the Darwin Center on your own. Dinner on your own in Puerto Ayora. Return to the Humboldt Explorer at 8:30 p.m.

Day 8 (20th December, Monday).

After breakfast (at 9:00 a.m.), we’ll say goodbye to the crew of the “Humboldt Explorer” and take a bus to Baltra Airport for our return flight.
