El Bajo:<\/b><\/span><\/h2>\n

El Bajo, also known as El Bajo de los Meros<\/strong>, is a truly special reef. Located north of the Cabo Pulmo reef, it stretches about 500 meters long, 30 meters wide, and has an average depth of 16 meters.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

This site consists of a narrow strip of rocks cut by sandy channels. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

In <\/span>El Bajo<\/b>, there are seven different types of coral, and it holds the highest concentration of fish in the area<\/strong>: large schools of cabrillas, snappers, burritos bandera, yellow snappers, stonefish, pufferfish, and even schools of burrfish. Additionally, numerous sea turtles can be spotted.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

In winter, different species of rays reproduce in the sandy areas on both sides of the reef<\/strong>. Almost daily, schools of jacks swirl around, trying to escape from hungry sea lions. Above the surface, golden eagles put on a breathtaking display.<\/span><\/p>\n\n

El Vencedor:<\/b> <\/span><\/h2>\n

On a sandy seabed at a depth of 16 meters lies El Vencedor<\/strong>, a 30-meter-long tuna fishing vessel that collided with the reef in 1981 and slowly sank. Although little remains of it today, it has become an excellent artificial reef teeming with marine life.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

This dive is one of the most sought-after because of the high probability of encountering bull sharks<\/strong> swimming peacefully around the shipwreck. If you love<\/span><\/span> diving with sharks<\/a><\/span><\/strong>,<\/strong> this is your spot!<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Jacks (Jureles):<\/b> <\/span><\/h2>\n

Without a fixed location, the huge tornado of jacks<\/strong> roams freely across the entire Cabo Pulmo reserve<\/a>.<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

This dive offers an incredible sight of an enormous school of jacks moving in synchronized harmony\u2014an unforgettable experience for any diver. You don\u2019t need to go deeper than 5 meters<\/strong> to enjoy this dive.<\/span><\/p>\n

Los Islotes:<\/b> <\/span><\/h2>\n

North of Esp\u00edritu Santo Island<\/strong> is the largest sea lion colony in the Gulf of California<\/strong>. It is estimated that around 300 individuals<\/strong> inhabit Los Islotes.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

Females and juveniles tolerate human presence well, often allowing divers and snorkelers to approach within a few meters.<\/strong> Sometimes, they even approach divers out of curiosity. However, males tend to be less friendly, showing more aggressive behavior when trying to protect their territory.<\/span><\/p>\n

Swanee Reef:<\/b> <\/span><\/h2>\n

This natural reef, located south of Esp\u00edritu Santo Island<\/strong>, is infamous for being the cause of the sinking of the ferry El Salvatierra<\/strong> in 1976. The ship struck the reef accidentally and sank. Fortunately, there were no human casualties.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

It is located just a short distance from the port of La Paz and is well-known for attracting a large number of fish<\/strong>, as well as sea lions and seabirds<\/strong>. Additionally, divers can find nudibranchs, octopuses, rays, and moray eels.<\/strong> This reef is a favorite among underwater photographers due to its excellent visibility and natural lighting. The depth is approximately 10 meters.<\/span><\/p>\n
