1. Cenotes<\/b><\/span><\/h4>\n

The region is famous for its <\/span>cenotes<\/b>, those <\/span>freshwater sinkholes<\/b> that are part of an incredibly extensive underground system. Diving in a cenote is a unique experience, completely different from any ocean dive.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The most popular ones are <\/span>Cenote Dos Ojos<\/b>, <\/span>Cenote Angelita<\/b>, and <\/span>Cenote Tajma Ha<\/b>. Here, you can explore rock formations that look like something from another planet, swim between columns and stalactites, and enjoy visibility that can exceed 30 meters.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The <\/span>Palancar Reef<\/b> is one of my favorites, with impressive underwater walls, incredible biodiversity, and gentle currents that make you feel like you’re flying underwater.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

We also recommend <\/span>Colombia Reef<\/b>, where we saw <\/span>giant turtles and endless schools of fish.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

3. Puerto Morelos<\/b><\/span><\/h4>\n

This small fishing town is home to the world\u2019s second-largest coral reef, known as the <\/span>Great Mayan Reef<\/b>.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

The marine life here is spectacular: colorful corals, giant sponges, eagle rays, and, if you’re lucky, nurse sharks. Plus, its shallow waters make it an ideal spot for beginners or relaxed dives.<\/span><\/p>\n
