Tubbataha, marine sanctuary

Declared a National Marine Park and a World Natural Heritage Site by UNESCO, Tubbataha Reef is possibly one of the best diving waters not only in the Philippines but on the entire planet.

The geographic centre of the world’s biodiversity, in the heart of the Coral Triangle, this nature reserve is considered a mecca for divers and a model for coral reef conservation. Its remote location in the middle of the Sulu Sea, 150 km southeast of Puerto Princesa on the island of Palawan (the westernmost Philippine province), as well as the strict regulations of this marine park, mean that access is only possible for a few live-aboard boats during the months of April to June, when wind and wave conditions permit.

We bring you a complete itinerary where we will visit the best areas of this marine sanctuary!

M/Y RESOLUTE

M.Y. Resolute has a rare and unique history of being a Soviet spy tracker during the cold war. Previously known as “Dzambul”, she originated from Russia’s Vladivostok Shipyard in 1974. A few years after decommissioning, she was purchased and converted into a full-service dive boat. She has been taking divers to the most exciting and remote diving destinations in the Philippines for almost 15 years.

The boat has also participated in several underwater archaeological missions and surveys (from 1998 to 2011). The ship most recently participated in the relief efforts for Tacloban due to Super Typhoon Yolanda from December 2013 to the first quarter of 2014 with Médecins Sans Frontières/Doctors Without Borders (MSF).
