A VIRGIN, UNEXPLORED PLACE

There are few unspoiled places left in the world, unexplored, far from the tourist circuits. Places where the natives look at you as if you were the first tourist they have ever seen in their lives. Magical, secret and spectacular places. Remote places unaltered by man. There are few places like Raja Ampat left.

The image of a labyrinth of limestone islands crowned with vegetation and surrounded by turquoise lagoons has captivated Westerners since the first European sailors set foot on these lands in the 15th century.

That same soft limestone creates some very interesting underwater topography, with caves, canyons, tunnels and passages on virtually every dive. Fed by nutrient-rich Pacific tidal currents, the myriad of tiny islets are home to lush reefs, with pastel-colored soft corals, giant gorgonians in different shades and colors, and countless sessile life forms.

More than 75% of the reef-building coral species known to science are found here, and the marine fauna is similarly rich, with a large number of fish species, of which more than 20 are endemic to the waters of Raja Ampat. The “Four Kings” (or Raja Ampat, as the four islands of Waigeo, Batanta, Salawati and Misool are commonly known) are a true diving paradise. With its exceptional landscapes of limestone karst towers, primitive fishing villages, vast expanses of mangroves and, of course, birds of paradise, it is without doubt one of the best diving destinations in the world.

A fascinating itinerary aboard the SMY Ondina schooner through the best diving spots of this mythical archipelago in one of the great underwater paradises and one of the richest areas of marine biodiversity on this planet. The Dampier Strait, Waigeo, Kawe-Wayag, Fam, Nusela, Misool, are just some of the names that will remain in our memory forever.

Don’t miss the opportunity to enjoy a unique trip to a unique place for unique divers.

It was built in South Sulawesi by the seafaring Bugis tribes and custom-built under the direct supervision of Operations Director Ricard Buxó: “by a diver for divers”.

It’s spacious interiors comfortably accommodate 16 passengers in 8 double cabins, each with air conditioning and private bathroom, of which the two forward cabins have two single bunk beds each, while the remaining six cabins are equipped with a double bed and a single bunk above.
